Celebrating In Color Meets Sweet Sonbirds

 Hello stamping friends! Today’s card share features the May, 2022, Celebrating In Color Paper Pumpkin Kit, Sweet Songbirds Bundle, 22-24 In Color Glimmer Paper and the 22-24 In Color Matte Decorative Dots. 


This Paper Pumpkin Kit contained the supplies to make two each of five In Color cards. I made one of each according to the Kit directions and one of each using a punch and stamp set.

Today’s card share includes the Orchid Oasis set of cards from the Kit. The card on the left in the first picture is the card made as per the Kit directions and the card on the right is still made mostly according to the directions but stepped up with the stamp Set and punch.

Directions:

Assemble the card according to the Kit directions with the following exceptions:

1. Turn the top card layer with the hole punched out so that the hole is in the top right corner of the card. 

2.  Using the Parakeet Party Ink Pad stamp the leaf image from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set randomly around the card front under the bottom 3/4 of the hole created by the cut out. 

3. Using the Crumb Cake Ink Pad stamp the birds nest image onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and then fussy cut it out. 

4. Stamp the “welcome” sentiment from the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set onto one of the small sentiment labels from the Kit using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Using liquid glue adhere this sentiment to the left of the cut out window as shown in the picture. 

5. Using the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set, stamp the sentiment “so happy your here” in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto the bottom center of the top card layer. 

6. Using the Songbird Builder Punch from the Sweet Songbirds Bundle, punch the bird out of the 22-24 Orchid Oasis In Color Glimmer Paper. Color the beak with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blends Markers and add the Matte Black Dots for the eyes. Using liquid glue assemble the bird and then add Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the bird. 

7. Add Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the card layer with the cut out and the “happy” sentiment die cut from the Kit. Remove the backings and add both layers to the card as shown in the picture. 

8. Using liquid glue add the birds nest to the bottom of the die cut area and then position the bird over the top of it. 

9. Work the upper left and lower right corners of your top layer back and forth to break down the Cardstock and then fold it back on itself and fold the tip back again. Holding it in place use a standard stapler and staples to affix it to the card as shown in the picture. 

10. Embellish with the 22-24 In Color Matte Decorative Dots.
