Z Fold Birthday Card for my Granddaughter

Hello stamping friends! Today’s card share features a Z Fold Birthday card for my granddaughter Lily who will be two. This card was made using the Prince & Princess Host Set, Pierced Blooms Dies, Playful Alphabet Dies and quite a few other sets as well. 😬😉🤣 It’s not every day your first grandchild turns two.

I chose the Prince & Princess Host Set because my son calls her his little Lily pad and it seemed appropriate. This stamp set is no longer available due to the release of the new catalog today. The Happier Than Happy Bundle from the new catalog features some adorable forest friends that could also be used to make this card.

The Pierced Bloom Dies are also no longer available as of today but the Happier Than Happy Bundle features quite a few small foliage dies that would be perfect in their place.

The Playful Alphabet Dies are no longer available and there is not an alphabet set in the new catalog so it’s my guess that we’ll be seeing another set coming out soon. Perhaps in the Mini Catalog being released in the next few months.

The A Grand Kid Stamp Set is a super cute stamp set perfect for grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and family members as well. It’s a sentiment set that contains so many loving and heartfelt sentiments as well as a few facetious ones. I used the sentiments on a back panel to decorate it for this card.

The One Happy Family Stamp Set is another sentiment set perfect for expressions of love, gratitude and welcome. I have used a few of the sentiments in this card. Sentiments are not just words on a card. They can also provide decoration, texture and visual interest.

The Biggest Wish Stamp Set has been a favorite of mine that I haven’t had occasion to use so I had to get it out and incorporate it into this card. The bold happy sentiment and the Scripty birthday sentiment are both from this set. It’s weird that I love this set so much I can’t get enough of it in other artist’s designs but I haven’t used it a lot yet myself. I plan to keep it on my desk top for a while to remind myself to use it!

Biggest Wish Stamp Set $17.00

The Foam Adhesive Sheets are perfect for popping up larger items such as letters and large images like the frog on the lily pad. They can be adhered to Cardstock with a release sheet( included) and then cut with the Stampin Cut & Emboss machine which saves you from having to do surgery on your Stampin Dimensionals. Stampin Dimensionals could work but you would have to use a lot of them and the paper wouldn’t have as much support as it gets from the foam sheets not to mention they would need to be cut up to fit the letters.

The Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels are soft and dreamy with just the barest hint of blush to them. I love these jewels! They don’t distract the eye from the overall card but instead give the softest sparkle that is just right for this card.

These images were colored with our amazing Stampin Blends Alcohol Markers. These markers are so awesomely forgiving of mistakes. You can simply enjoy coloring and know that if you don’t love the affect you can add more color or use the Color Lifter to remove color as needed.
