Easter Friends Handmade Card Triple Panel Layout

Hello stamping friends! Today’s card share features the Easter Friends Stamp Set and a combination of old and new paper for fun. The card on the left shows off the Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper which was a recent Sale-a-Bration item for those that have it. The card on the right features the Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper.

The Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper is stunning! My inner child does a little happy dance every time I see it. There is a variety of patterns and designs in gorgeous spring colors. This paper was a must have for me . I didn’t even know what I was going to use it for. 😆 When the paper is this pretty you figure it out, right?

Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper $11.50

The Easter Friends Stamp Set contains many iconic Easter images as well as four mix and match sentiments. When making multiple cards with one set it helps to have more sentiments to mix it up a little. Am I the only one that gets bored with one sentiment?

Easter Friends Stamp Set $23.00

I used the Brushed Brass Butterflies on both cards for these samples because they are just so pretty and I couldn’t think of a better place to put them than a field of flowers. As a bonus these gems are completely flat so they won’t cost you extra postage.

Brushed Brass Butterflies $10.00

The Blue Adhesive Backed Gems are adorable and the colors match the Designer Series Paper perfectly. They already have a glue dot on the back so you can just peel and stick. I’ll be using these little gems a lot.

Blue Adhesive Backed Gems $8.00

You will notice some of the images from the stamp set are stamped on Daffodil Delight Cardstock in this post. I spent some time experimenting with ink colors and coloring mediums to decide what to use for this project. I really liked the idea of a cute yellow chick and the spring imagery that produces but I wasn’t sure that coloring the images with blends was the direction that I wanted to go so I chose the Daffodil Delight Cardstock as my chick/ duck color and then played around with ink colors and coloring mediums.

In the picture with the six chicks the ink colors from left to right on the top line are Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie.

In the same picture the ink colors from left to right on the bottom line are: Crushed Curry, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede and Gray Granite.

To decide how best to color the feet and beaks I experimented with Stampin Blends and the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1. I have included an enlarged example of the Stampin Blends Pumpkin Pie Marker on the feet of the chick stamped with Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin Ink. You can see how the blends marker almost obliterates the detail on the feet.

Having decided on the Daffodil Delight Cardstock stamped with Cinnamon Cider Classic Stampin Ink and the Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Pencil for the feet/ beaks I brought it all together on the picture of the Duck and three chicks. These are the images that I used on this project.
